Buck Hill Tubing

Ongoing

A solid winter outing that’s equal parts fun and low effort. Snow tubing here is fast, simple, and friendly for a wide range of ages, with long runs and a lift that saves your legs. It’s easy to come for a short burst of energy or settle in for a few hours, especially if you’re looking for something active that doesn’t require much skill or gear.

Dashing Through the Snow Plows

Until 12/31

A casual night of improv where the jokes are made up on the spot and nothing is too polished. Some bits land big, others go off the rails, and that’s part of the fun. It’s relaxed, unpredictable, and easy to enjoy without thinking too hard.

White Christmas Chanhassen

Thru January

A theater production that leans into familiar musicals, with local performers, and live energy. It’s approachable and easy to enjoy, whether you’re a longtime theater fan or just looking for a night out that doesn’t feel overdone.

Trivia Night

12/28

A casual night centered around local beer, with rotating happenings that might include live music, trivia, or food trucks. It’s the kind of place where you grab a drink, see what’s going on, and settle in without needing much of a plan.

NYE @ Arboretum

12/31

A calm, end-of-year evening spent outdoors, with softly lit paths, winter scenery, and a slower pace than typical celebrations. It’s more about taking a quiet walk, soaking in the setting, and reflecting a bit before the calendar turns.

Inventive, tech-driven mini golf paired with a full restaurant and bar setup. The Puttshack is upscale but relaxed, with globally inspired small plates that work well for sharing. The menu leans playful and polished at the same time—things like loaded street-food starters, elevated flatbreads, and one of the most talked-about items: the crispy chicken sandwich, which shows up often in reviews for good reason. The space feels energetic without being chaotic, making it easy to linger, talk, and ease into the night rather than rush through a meal.

After dinner, The Puttshack shifts naturally into a low-pressure, high-fun date activity. Interactive mini golf courses use tracking technology so there’s no scorekeeping stress—just friendly competition and plenty of laughs. The courses are colorful, modern, and designed to keep things moving, which helps avoid awkward pauses. It’s active but not intense, social without being loud, and perfect for dates that want something more memorable than just sitting across a table.

We’re Minnesotans. We’re a hearty bunch. We don’t hide inside all winter. So take the kids, grab a sled, and make some memories outside this week.
